In the Hollywood film scene, there are many shocking things that might happen in a short amount of time, such as a bad box office earning of a certainly hyped film or that of a success of a small one. This year, numerous movies have been released that were highly successful, earning hundreds of millions of dollars in their opening week and reaching more during their worldwide release. One of these highly-successful film is Marvel superhero film "Deadpool."
The success of "Deadpool" was no surprise, the well-loved superhero was hyped up to the point that fans couldn't wait for its release and the film did not disappoint as well. But it seems like "Deadpool" will soon be dethroned on the top box office films this week now that the movie "Zootopia" has been released.
"Zootopia," a cartoon film from Disney, has been making waves both in North America and all around the world, seeing that it has a wider range of viewers (Rated PG) unlike that of "Deadpool" which was Rated 18. Already "Zootopia" has raked in over $90 Million in overseas showing including countries Thailand, Korea, Taiwan, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.
Last week, "Zootopia" has sold over $30 Million worth of ticket sales, an impressive number compared to that of "Deadpool's" ticket sale that was $40.2 Million and double the amount of markets. Disney has yet to reveal the budget for the making of "Zootopia" but many speculate that it might have caused Disney over $150 Million but, from what it is raking in, it will be no time before Disney will break even.
"Zootopia" has also been getting rave reviews from numerous sites and film critics. Famous movie critic site, Rotten Tomatoes has given "Zootopia" a 100% and the site rarely gives that percentage to films.
