The food intake of kids has been one of the most vital things parents consider when raising their kids. Growing individuals need proper nourishment for them to grow as healthy and active individuals.
According to Irish Examiner, the usual baby food packed in bottles or boxes sometimes do not provide complete nutrition for kids. Mother Irene Queally can attest to this. "The long-life processed pouches and jars didn't look or taste anything like the baby food I was cooking at home," Queally said. She noted that she learned to make food from scratch for her children.
This inspired the mom-of-two to make a brand of healthy baby food called Pip & Pear. Irish Examiner said the food produced by Queally's startup are made specially for babies five to 10 months old. These items are said to be made without added preservatives, salt and food coloring.
"It's just like homemade, with all of the goodness and none of the guilt of buying a long shelf-life alternative," Queally added. Pip & Pear's products have been made available in Ireland and Spain. There are also plans to make them available in the United Kingdom.
On the other hand, The Bump claimed that it is also good to make kids eat cereals and avocados since there are filled with nutrients needed by their bodies. Cereals are rich in iron while avocados are filled with monounsaturated fats. Aside from being healthy food items, these are also easy to prepare and serve.
Another must-try for parents are sweet potatoes. Parents.com said these are rich in fiber, potassium, and Vitamin C. Potatoes also help prevent cancer because they are effective antioxidants.
The same report noted that children should also be fed with protein-rich eggs. These are also filled with vitamins A, D, E, and B12, as well as zinc.
