'The Winds of Winter' Release Date, News & Update: Book To Include Dorthraki Dialogues

There is no doubt that the sixth installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire" is long overdue. Fans have been waiting for the said book for over four years and counting, yet nothing is confirmed as to when "The Winds of Winter" will hit the bookshelves.

While waiting, here's the latest scoop we have about George RR Martin's anticipated book. International Business Times reported that "The Winds of Winter" will include Dothraki dialogues.

Dorthraki is the language used by the nomadic horse warriors to communicate. For fans who have been following Martin's popular book series, perhaps, you are already aware that this particular language is very much different from the languages used in Westeros and Free Cities.

David Peterson was hired to create the Dorthraki language. However, this is not new to him. Per Dorthraki.com, he received an M.A. in Linguistics from UC San Diego. He joined "Game of Thrones'" crew in 2009 to work on the Dorthraki language, became the alien language creator and culture consultant for the "Defiance" series in 2011 and also the language creator for Syfy's "Dominion" in 2013.

Peterson posted an announcement on Reddit, where he introduced himself as the language creator of some popular shows, including "Game of Thrones." "Feel free to ask me anything, but I may not be able to answer certain questions due to spoilers," he added.

On the said interaction, Peterson revealed that he helped Martin translate some of the words in Dorthraki for "The Winds of Winter." However, it seemed that the language expert did not intentionally share those crucial details because he noted that the secretive author might be angry with him for slipping it. He even added that Martin may change the words he provided to "punish" him.

Peterson also revealed that Martin did not ask his help to translate the other fictitious languages from Westeros. Thus, YiTi were not Peterson's work. However, he added that it will be "cool" if he was involved.
