Geri Horner, a pop icon and a member of the famous girl band in the 90's, Spice Girl, has made changes in her life as a housewife and turning her passion into baking cakes. She definitely understands what 'girl power' means now - this is a phrase that makes Spice Girls popular among the young women in the 90's.
According to Daily Mail, Geri, 43 described girl power as not a great achievement or status. "Perhaps it could just be living an authentic life. If that's being a housewife, looking after your kids, that's good enough," Geri said.
"For the majority of my life, I have been single. I looked after myself, I paid my own bills. I brought up a child by myself, I multitasked," Geri continued. "I always wondered what it would be in a traditional family unit with a husband--I think both have their merits and challenges." "I love being creative, but running a house and being a mother can be just as meaningful," Halliwell added.
Geri got married last May to Christian Horner, the team principal of Infiniti Red Bull Formula. Recently, she was crowned the 'star baker' by BBC on the One's Great Sport Relief Bake Off. She is also the poster girl for baking on Instagram.
Geri made her first dish which was a tart with flaky pastry on national television. "Paul Hollywood bit into it, and then he took another bite, and then a slice."
"Then everyone in the studio was eating my tart. I was, like, "Is this real?" But it taught me that's good to say yes and leave your comfort zone," Geri recalled. According to her, baking has cured her bulimia for twenty years.
She also worked as a UN goodwill ambassador before. Their message for the women of today-- "if you educate a girl, you improve the economy of a country."
Meanwhile, BBC reports that there will be a possible reunion of Spice Girls probably without Victoria Beckham. Geri said that it will be the four of them. Ginger Spice also said that when the reunion is definite already they will announce it right away.
