Fans will be thrilled to know that "Deadpool" will soon be released on Blu-Ray through Amazon. Though the release date is a bit far, Amazon's official announcement has heightened the public's excitement.
According to Cinema Blend's report, Amazon announced that Blu-Ray copies of "Deadpool," which stars Ryan Reynolds, will be released on May 20, 2016. Though it would not be available until two months from now, fans are more than excited for its Amazon release.
Even though "Deadpool's" Blu-Ray release date is official, Amazon is yet to announce what's included in the "Deadpool" Blu-Ray copy. Cinema Blend added that "behind the scene" options are still available. Also, the Blu-Ray copy would run longer and feature more graphic contents, except the Director's Cut for "Deadpool."
According to Deadline, "Deadpool" topped the box office ratings with $152.2 million upon its opening. During the first three days of its premiere, it gained $132.4 million, and the numbers skyrocketed to $152.2 million on the fourth day during the President's Day holiday.
"Deadpool" managed to conquer "Fifty Shades of Grey." Not only did it top the box office, it was also the "biggest opening for an R-Rated movie" in a span of three days. "Deapool" was able to surpass the "Matrix Reloaded's" $91.8 million mark and went pass "Hangover 2's" $117.6 million profits during the fourth day of screening.
Forbes made an additional report in regards to "Deadpool's" profit. It was mentioned that "Deadpool" sits at 12th place, just after "Captain America: The Amazing Soldier" earns $259 million. It continually works its way up and might eventually surpass "The Amazing Spider-Man" that gathered $262 million. As for its standings, Forbes cited that "Deadpool" would be the 14th on the superhero list and 13th on comic book adaptations.
