One of the most anticipated films is the sequel of "Avatar." The first film is a blockbuster, and this is one of the reasons why fans are expecting so much from "Avatar 2."
According to CinemaBlend, "Avatar 2" was initially scheduled for released at the end of 2016. However, early this year they announced that the film will be delayed for a year, and so are the remaining two sequels, which are scheduled a year apart.
On Thursday, Jim Gianopulos, 20th Century Fox chairman-CEO revealed that he is hopeful that "Avatar 2" will be released in the Christmas holidays of 2017 with the other two sequels trailing behind a year apart, Variety reported.
Gianopulos disclosed that he paid James Cameron a visit in New Zealand two months ago. He also shared the things he saw in his office.
"It's a room...which is covered floor to ceiling with images, characters, worlds, settings," Gianakopulos said. "It's the most amazing, breathtaking thing you've ever seen. His challenge is to put all of that in a movie."
Meanwhile, Movie News Guide reported that the director was the main cause of the delay. Cameron has his unique approach and style when it comes to producing blockbuster movies.
Per the report, Cameron does not rush his projects, which only supports Gianopulos' statement citing the director to be working at his own pace. It looks like that the award-winning director just chooses the right options. Per Vines, "Avatar 2" needs a more detailed setup, especially for the design of the Pandora environment.
Cameron has already produced blockbuster films in the past that are highly regarded for its creativity and plot. Moreover, his works are among the highest grossing movies worldwide.
Per The Numbers, "Avatar" tops the chart for the highest grossing movies of all time with a worldwide box office amounting to $2,783,918,982. Another film of Cameron, "Titanic" sits in the second spot.
If there are no more delays, "Avatar 2" will hit theaters on Dec. 25, 2017.
