'Sherlock' Season 4 Air Date, News & Update: Star In Running Tom Hiddleston Goes Bare In 'The Night Manager,' Wants To Be James Bond

"Sherlock Season 4" star in running Tom Hiddleston as the third Holmes brother, Sherrinford, is among the most awaited confirmations for "Sherlock Season 4." Still, a revelation by Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes) that "Sherlock Season 4" will definitely be followed by a few more seasons is a satisfying tidbit.

Tom Hiddleston in "Sherlock Season 4" as the third Holmes brother has been hoped for both by "Sherlock" fans and series co-creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. Mark Gatiss was hesitant at first about being able to get Tom Hiddleston to sign up for "Sherlock Season 4." This is understandable, especially with the numerous movie commitments that Tom Hiddleston is under. Fans refused to be deterred, however, given that "Sherlock" actor Benedict Cumberbatch is equally busy and still finds time to film the "Sherlock" series.

At the moment, to the advantage or disadvantage of "Sherlock Season 4," Tom Hiddleston voiced out his interest in being considered to play the next James Bond. Current James Bond Daniel Craig is reportedly thinking of retirement. Tom Hiddleston is apparently more than willing to inherit the titular role.

According to IGN, Tom Hiddleston thinks becoming the next James Bond will be extraordinary and he will prepare well for it. "I'm very aware of the physicality of the job," Tom Hiddleston said. "I would not take it lightly."

Certainly, the "Sherlock Season 4" candidate is not short on appeal and charisma as "The Night Manager" proves. According to Daily Mail, Tom Hiddleston set social media on fire with his lead role in the TV adaptation of the spy novel "The Night Manager" by John Le Carre.

Besides Tom Hiddleston in "Sherlock Season 4," one other reveal that "Sherlock" fans can anticipate is seeing Mary, played by Amanda Abbington, more entrenched as a team member for Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock and Martin Freeman's Dr. Watson. According to Den Of Geek, with the unveiling of Mary's true identity, "Sherlock Season 4" should see her in a stronger role.

Furthermore, Metro reports that "Sherlock" Season 5 has been confirmed and that "Sherlock Season 4" will bring tragedy with it. "This is a major, life-changing series for the regulars," Gatiss promised.

BBC and PBS will return with "Sherlock" Season 4" in January 2017. Amanda Abbington as Mary, Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson, Unna Stubbs as Mrs. Hudson, Mark Gatiss as Mycroft Holmes and Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes star in "Sherlock Season 4."
