Apple is releasing three different types of iPhone this year. What's the difference between the iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone Pro? Below is a roundup of its specs and features:
Apple iPhone SE
Speculations suggest that the iPhone SE will be coming out during an event slated March 21, per Mac World. However, details of the release remain unconfirmed with only a few weeks to the event.
The iPhone SE is a 4-inch device that was first referred to as the iPhone 5SE or the iPhone 6C. It is said to be similar to iPhone 5 in design, but the phone has a curvier edge. The phone is also expected to carry a 12 MP camera on the rear and it is supported by an A9 chip. The smartphone's price is pegged to fall under the $400-$500 range.
iPhone 7
Apple is also set to release the iPhone 7, which is reportedly similar to the iPhone 6s in design, albeit about one millimeter thinner. Much has been said about the features of this device. It's speculated that the thinner body is meant to do away with the audio jack and accommodate a Lightning port plus. Forbes reports that the newest iPhone could also come with an OLED display similar to Samsung phones.
CNET reports that the iPhone 7 might also feature stereo speakers, which is the first for any Apple mobile devices. Its camera on the rear will also be flat, unlike current versions where the lens peeks out the body.
iPhone Pro
The iPhone Pro is said to be another variant of the iPhone 7 and also believed to be referred to as the iPhone 7 Plus. The high-end version is said to feature a two rear-facing cameras or a dual lens system. However, only a small batch of this will be produced. "Apple can't produce the camera modules in enough quantity so it will create a third smartphone just to get the technology to the market in more limited quantities," said Ming-Chi Kuo said in another Forbes report.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone Pro are expected in September, but price details are still not available.
