J.K. Rowling recently updated Potterheads about "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." In a Twitter post, the author clarified that the book won't be adapted as a movie.
J.K Rowling responded to rumors of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" movie adaptation by posting on Twitter that the book will be translated into a two-part play and not a movie. According to Movie News Guide, the play will premiere at Palace Theatre in London on July 30, 2016.
Movie Pilot adds that "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" follows Harry Potter's family life, working as an Auror for the Ministry of Magic. The conflict stems from Harry's past as Albus, his youngest son, struggles with the weight of a family legacy he refuses to embrace.
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is the eighth book following the success of the franchise. Warner Bros is reportedly in the works of a spin-off between the "Harry Potter" series and the book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," according to Movie News Guide.
As confirmed by J.K. Rowling herself, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will have three installments. The movie will be helmed by the same director of the "Harry Potter" series. Actor Eddie Redmayne will be taking on the titular role of Newt Scamander, a magizoologist. The first part of the trilogy series will be released on Nov 18, 2016.
