Bandai Namco's "Tekken" series is among the most popular games today. In fact, many are looking forward to the release date of the next iteration of the franchise. However, Bandai Namco has not confirmed yet when "Tekken 7" will be released.
Parent Herald reported earlier about "Tekken 7" senior designer Michael Murray's reaction to several assumptions about "Tekken 7" VR. Per SementNext, he debunked some of the theories about the game.
"When we announced that we're going to do something with virtual reality, people were like 'oh, so you're going to be playing in first person and hitting each other?" Murray said. "That sounds like crap! There was a hidden command in Tekken 2 [where you could play in first person] that was cool in itself but you wouldn't want to do that for your whole Tekken fix, right?
Murray explained that "Tekken 7" is about the characters. Although they will not include a Cheat Mode similar to "Tekken 2," the game will include cool techniques and motion captures to make the gameplay fun and interesting.
Meanwhile, Yibada reported that "Tekken 7" may come with additional two game modes. The Japanese video game company is said to be working and finishing the remaining content of "Tekken 7" and there is a possibility that they will bring back the "Tekken Bowl" mode and add a new mode involving the Mishima clan storyline.
Aside from this, there are speculations that "Tekken 7" will also feature an online mode, just like what the players enjoy in the arcade. Also, more guest characters are expected in the title aside from "Street Fighter's" Akuma.
On the other hand, the next crossover project between Capcom and Bandai Namco, "Tekken X Street Fighter" is still in the works. However, the team is still not decided when the game will be released. Thus, fans who are waiting for the game cannot expect a release window any time soon.
"It's still in development, but as far as a release window we haven't really decided on that," Murray told PlayStation Magazine.
When do you think Bandai Namco will finally release "Tekken 7?" Will it still need a long wait to see "Tekken X Street Fighter?" Share your thoughts below.
