Fans of Adidas' hottest selling shoes, the Yeezy Boost, will have something to cheer for as Kanye West confirms there will be a million pairs for sale. However, the wait for the next release might be longer as new designs won't come out until summer.
West told his followers on Twitter that Adidas is opening more factories to meet with the growing demand for Yeezy Boost. "@Adidas is making a million Yeezys this year, opening up new factories..." the rapper and entrepreneur tweeted.
Whether West's statement is an exaggeration or not, it cannot be denied that the Yeezy footwear is selling like hotcakes. TMZ reports that as early as this week, people are already lining up at stores in Los Angeles for the next Yeezy release.
The stores have allegedly been giving shoppers wrist bands to determine their slots as there are only 60 pairs available for the new releases. The only problem with this setup is that there has been no official announcements from Adidas about new products hitting shelves any time soon.
High Snobiety reports that any new Yeezy release is likely to come out in the summer and not March as earlier rumored. Although there have been reports of a Yeezy Boost 750 brown colorway dropping on March 18, Adidas is still not confirming if this is true or not as the date draws nearer. There are also no details about new footwear on the store's site.
Meanwhile, Complex presents photos of a material called the "primeknit" that might be used for upcoming Yeezy Boost Season 3 releases. The pattern appears to have a "lacing system" that is comparable to the 350. The news outlet also suggests, this material could be used for the new line, the Yeezy Boost 550. The footwear company has also not made any confirmation about this just yet.
