Just recently, Kang re-posted the photo with the caption "non-apology" and includes a brief letter: "I never called you fat, I never said that you were a bad mother, I never said what's your excuse for not looking like me, I never said anything like that. I just came out and said you need to own the thoughts you put in your own head because I didn't put it there, you did," she said. Kang is a former beauty pageant queen and a recovered bulimic, according to SFGate. A lengthy version of her post on her Facebook page that now has over 100,000 fans. Some parts of Kang's post states:

"What I WILL say is this. What you interpret is not MY fault. It's Yours. The first step in owning your life, your body and your destiny is to OWN the thoughts that come out of your own head. I didn't create them. You created them. So if you want to continue 'hating' this image, get used to hating many other things for the rest of your life. You can either blame, complain or obtain a new level of thought by challenging the negative words that come out of your own brain."
