'Guardians of Galaxy 2' Release Date, Cast News & Trailer: Sylvester Stallone Seen On Set? Cast Gets Together For Rehearsals, Goofs Around In Pics

Filming for "Guardians of Galaxy 2" has already started and the cast has been meeting up to rehearse some scenes. There are also reports Sylvester Stallone was seen on the set. Is he joining the sequel?

On Location Vacation received confirmation from inside sources that the "Rocky" star has been filming for "Guardians of Galaxy 2" at the Pinewood Studios in Atlanta and at the Georgia International Convention Center. He's also been working with the crew since February and had been spotted wearing a costume similar to his "Judge Dredd" character.

The insider further confirms that the character, Howard the Duck, was also seen on the set, supporting speculations made last year that the Marvel character was going to feature in the sequel. It should be recalled that the duck was in the post-credit scenes in the first film, per Cinema Blend. It now appears that the movie's director, James Gunn, has decided to keep his storyline going.

Meanwhile, the cast are already rehearsing at the studios in preparation for the film's principal photography. But they took time out to goof around for the cameras in between rehearsals and Gunn shared a photo of the cast on Facebook. Chriss Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Michael Rooker happily posed for the shot.

High on believing. The Guardians of the Galaxy and frenemies.

"Guardians of The Galaxy 2" brings back the original cast, along with Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, who voices Rocket, and Vin Diesel, who voices Groot. Joining them are stars like Kurt Russell, Elizabeth Debicki, Pom Klementieff and Chris Sullivan. The second film will explore the background of Peter Quill's (Pratt) parentage.

The movie is scheduled to open in theaters May 2017. "Guardians of the Galaxy" is based on a comic book series first published by Marvel in 1969.
