Kim Kardashian was quick to defend herself after she received heavy criticism from fans, and even from some Hollywood moms, on her latest selfie post on Twitter. The Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s star wrote an essay on her website telling critics and shamers “You be you and let me be me.”
According to Independent, a number of Kim’s fans brought the issue about her sex tape, and that she was “no more than a porn star.” They even left comments on the social media pages of the reality TV star.
Will people side with Kim K amid all the negative feedback on her latest nude selfie? Will her defense change the perception of many mothers out there who considered her post as having gone too far?
One Hollywood mom, Bette Midler, didn’t take long to post her comment on Twitter right after Kim K posted her controversial nude photo. It was apparently a veiled admonishment of Kim’s post.
Aside from Bette Midler, another famous Hollywood singer, Pink, also tweeted something that shows some disdain towards Kim K’s photo. Pink, who has a young daughter tweeted the following:
In fact, it wasn’t only Hollywood moms who were somehow irked by the nude selfie of Kim. One younger actress, Chloe Grace Moretz also expressed her own sentiments towards Kim K. She tweeted:
Being the feisty reality TV star that she is, Kim tweeted scathing responses to Midler and Moretz. According to E! Online, Kim has not yet responded to Pink’s tweet, but Amber Rose came to the defense of Kim K.
Rose took to Instagram to send a note to Pink telling her that Kim’s selfie was none of Pink’s business. She said, “Pink we were all born naked society sexualizes our breast and bodies. If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off that's none of ur business or anyone else's.” She further added, “Now, if u wanna talk to kids and be a mentor to young teens, tell them to go to school and to not use their bodies to get ahead?! I'm all for it!”
Ending her tirade, Rose wrote, “But please as a grown woman let another grown woman live as she wishes.” And as a final note, “That's our problem! We're so quick to down each other instead of uplifting!”
The Twitter drama between Kim and other celebrity moms out there may not yet be over. But hey, this wasn’t the first time that Kim K was under fire for her pictures on social media.
