The "Transformers" series is among the popular films. Many autobots fans are very excited for the next iteration of the franchise and while this is something to look forward to, there are also reports claiming that this might be Michael Bay's final work of art.
Bay made the "Transformers" series a success. He is taking the director's chair for "Transformers 5" but this will be his last. "I'm doing Transformers ... 5, is it? I've taken on a lot of work. ... It's fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see," Bay Rolling Stone.
"But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else. J.J. [Abrams] told me, 'You're the only guy that could do this.' But it's time to move on. One more," he added.
Parent Herald previously reported that Hasbro confirms more sequels for the "Transformers" franchise. In fact, the team is plotting for sequels 6, 7 and 8 in the next 10 years. But with Bay leaving the franchise another director will be helming the next "Transformers" films following "Transformers 5."
Meanwhile, "Transformers 5" is set to film in Michigan per Deadline and My Entertainment World notes that it will happen this May.
"Michigan has been so welcoming of Michael Bay and the 'Transformers' movies over the years, and we are thrilled to be returning for this next incredible installment," Lee Rosenthal, President of Paramount Pictures Physical Production said.
Lawyer Herald reported that it would feature two plots. One story line will pickup up to the scene where Optimus Prime left off during the "Age of Extinction." The autobot leader is heading to space for a face-to-face bout with the Quintessons leader. The other plot will revolve around Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) and Ultra Magnus, who are left to manage the events on the Earth.
"Transformers 5" will hit the big screens on June 23, 2017.
