Many "Tekken" fans are looking forward to the next iteration of the franchise. But while the details of "Tekken 7" remains in the dark, Bandai Namco is gearing up for a new game, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" which will also arrive in the arcade soon.
"Tekken 7" was released in Japanese and Korean arcades in 2015 but the anticipated title has not reached the consoles yet. "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is also coming in arcades this July 2016 as reported by N4BB.
New rumors suggest that the console version of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" might be available in 2016 or early 2017. According to Ecumenical News, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be released this summer since location test for the game in Japan has already started but the console version will not be available until the fourth quarter of 2016 or first quarter of 2017.
Although many are hopeful that this is true, this report is not yet confirmed and fans should take it with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, "Street Fighter's" Akuma will be joining "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." For those wondering what his role will be, according to Latin Post, the crossover character is the missing link to the Mishima clan plot.
The Supreme Master of the Fist is indebted to Kazumi, so he will do something for her. There have been issues brewing among the Mishima members and she wants to end this. According to the report, Akuma will kill Kazuya and Heihachi per Kazumi's order. Thus, it will be the end of the Mishima Clan.
Polygon reported earlier that "Tekken 7" would be the culmination of the Mishima clan saga. Thus, if Akuma's purpose is to end the Mishima members, then there are high changes that indeed he is the missing link of the Mishima plot.
"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is expected to arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One late 2016 or early 2017. Meanwhile, there is still no concrete release window for "Tekken 7."
