New mom Giuliana Rancic is enjoying her new role as a mother, even her sleepless nights.
"I love my sleep. I feel very strongly about getting eight hours of sleep a night. I think that it keeps you healthy and sane, but I wondered how people function when they have to get up at all hours of the night. But you just do it. You function because you enjoy doing it," Rancic told Parade. "I think the biggest surprise is probably enjoying those overnight feedings. I love them and look forward to them because I get to spend time with the baby."
The 37-year-old couldn't stop talking when referring to her motherhood experiences and her newborn.
"It's awesome. I knew it was going to be great, especially because we worked so hard at having a baby and we wanted a baby so bad, but it's even better than I expected," the new mother told Parade. "He's really opening his eyes now, and when he opens his eyes and stares at you for ten minutes at a time while you're feeding him, you just realize why there's that mother-son bond and I say to myself: 'How am I ever going to say no to this kid!' He's got me. It's everything I had hoped for and more."
Giuliana and Bill tied the knot in Sep. 2007. Struggling to have a baby naturally, the E! News anchor and her husband sought the help of in vitro fertililization in 2010.
Two IVF treatments ended in failure and adding to their miseries, Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent mastectomy as part of the cancer treatment.
The couple, who shared their struggle in the reality show "Giuliana & Bill" later sought the help of a surrogate to carry their biological baby.
They welcomed their first son Edward Duke Rancic on Aug. 29 in Denver, Colorado.
