Cara Delevingne News: 'Suicide Squad' Actress Revealed Constant Need For Approval

"Suicide Squad" star Cara Delevingne has had a successful run as a fashion model, bagging "Model of the Year" award twice (2012 and 2014) from the British Fashion Awards body. Cara Delevingne went into fashion modelling with Storm Model Management in 2009 before branching out to acting.

Cara Delevingne seems able to excel in whatever she does, be it modelling, acting or making music. Alongside modelling, Cara Delevingne performed with "Happy" singer Pharell Williams at the Metiers d'Art show in 2015. At that point, Cara Delevingne considered that she might go into music.

The plan took a detour and, instead, Cara Delevingne became more fully involved with an acting career in Hollywood. Cara Delevingne appeared in films like "Pan," Paper Towns" and "Anna Karenina." Her latest turn in front of the camera is in the anti-hero film "Suicide Squad." Cara Delevigne is playing the roles of June Moone and Enchantress in "Suicide Squad."

Daily Mail reports that Cara Delevingne opened up about her decision to shift from fashion modelling to acting. Despite her many successes, Cara Delevingne reveals that the process behind the success cost her more than she expected. Cara Delevingne related that she reached a point where she realized that she had completely given in to the standards of approval that the fashion industry imposed. Cara Delevingne made these revelations in her writing on Motto by Time magazine.

"As a result, I lost sight of myself and what it meant to be happy, what it meant to be successful," Delevingne wrote. "I think it all stemmed from a deep-down feeling of wanting people to like me and love me."

Cara Delevingne took on expectations that she personally placed upon herself. Her accomplishments were numerous, yet she had been unable to couple the pride she felt with genuine happiness.

Before Cara Delevingne announced her retirement from the fashion industry, the "Suicide Squad" actress had been doing 53 shows per Fashion Week. Cara Delevingne projected her unhappiness physically and developed the skin disease psoriasis. For Cara Delevingne her work gave her a hollow feeling and made her forget that she was young. Cara Delevingne understood that she was not growing as a person.

For now, acting seems more durable for Cara Delevigne. Besides "Suicide Squad," Cara Delevingne was also recently seen in "Zoolander 2." "Absolutely Fabulous," "Tulip Fever" and "London Fields" are also lined up for Cara Delevingne.
