Caught on Camera: Woman Shamelessly Stole A $1,000 Puppy, Police Searching For Suspect

A young woman was caught on camera stealing a puppy, worth $1,000, from a pet shop by putting the puppy inside her bag and simply walked out of the store. The stolen puppy is a mix Bichon-Poodle named Montgomery.

The security footage showed that the incident occurred around 5PM on Feb. 28. The unedited recorded video shows the young woman picking the puppy up out of a dog pen and slowly puts the Bichon-Poodle puppy inside her bag, then carries the bag up.

On her way out, she briefly smiled and was even conversing with pet shop personnel, as though nothing had happened. The female suspect then left the store without any doubts of returning back the innocent puppy to its pen in the pet shop.

"Adding the brazenness of the act, the woman actually stops and talks to the pet shop clerk as she goes to leave, while the dog is sitting in her bag out of view," as explained by Detroit News Time. In addition, the woman left the store without the pet shop personnel's knowledge and drove off in an unrecognized vehicle.

"Police in Plymouth County, Pennsylvania, are trying to identify the thief using security footage taken inside the Playful Pets on Ridge Pike Road," as reported by Daily Mail. The Plymouth Township Police Department has been spreading the video to help get the puppy back from a distressing situation.

Ever since the video was posted on the Facebook page of Plymouth Police Department, it has received a number of strong feedbacks from individuals of the local district. In fact, a large number of people were calling for a broader action of investigating the sad incident into the pet shop itself, with several reactions saying, "they sell puppy mill puppies and do not humanely treat their animals," according to Global News.
