Apple is making headlines following the announcement of the iPhone 5se release date on Friday, which is slated for March 21 during a media event. In addition, the tech giant will also be revealing a 9.7-inch iPad Pro, new Apple Watch versions, among others.
Although Apple has yet to confirm if it will reveal a new version of the iPhone, several leaks have already insinuated that an upcoming iPhone will be announced. According to ZDNet, Apple CEO Tim Cook will be unveiling a 4-inch iPhone, which was recently known as the iPhone 5se.
Apparently, the latest on the rumor mill claims that it's now called the iPhone SE - as in, special edition. It seems as though the iPhone SE is a hybrid of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6s. MacRumors claims that the newest iPhone features the same curved design of the latest models, but keeping in size of the iPhone 5s.
Meanwhile, 9to5Mac claims that the iPhone 5se retains the small size of the iPhone 5 models, with updated hardware similar to the iPhone 6 variations. The iPhone SE is expected to house a faster A9 chip and M9 chip.
Furthermore, the iPhone 5se will also have the "always-on Siri" and Live Photos feature, which debuted with the iPhone 6s. Apple Pay will also be available in either of the 16 or 64GB models available in space gray, silver, gold or rose gold variations.
The new iPad Pro will be smaller than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro revealed last fall, spanning 9.7 inches. "Apple typically updates its 9.7-inch tablet annually, but focused instead last year on refreshing the 7.9-inch iPad mini and introducing the 12.9-inch iPad Pro," reports Zac Hall of 9to5Mac.
As for Apple Watches, 9to5Mac says that a new line of bands will be available even before the Apple Watch 2 sees its release in September. There are reportedly new sport bands coming out, in addition to a black Milanese loop and NATO-style Nylon bands, which first became popular thanks to James Bond films.
Sources say that Apple might be partnering with some big brands for the Apple Watch bands, such as Hermès. Although the fashion house and Apple have reportedly been discussing a collaboration for the bands, there have been no reports to confirm the speculation.
