Did Johnny Depp throw shade at presidential bet Donald Trump? During a speaking engagement at the Arizona State University (ASU), the Hollywood star called the business tycoon and politician a "brat" who thinks "everything is mine."
In February, Depp spoofed Trump in the Funny or Die video, "Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal" and was then asked about his portrayal in the school's forum. ""I approached Donald Trump as what you kind of see in him when you really watch him. There's a pretense," he said, per Entertainment Weekly. "There's something created about him in the sense of bullydom. But what he is, I believe, is a brat."
Depp then proceeded to do more impersonations of Trump to emphasize why he thinks the presidential aspirant is a spoiled child. In one instance, he talked about Trump claiming the Taj Mahal. "Everything is mine. Even if I don't own it," said Depp, per Huffington Post. The crowd laughed and cheered at Depp's impersonation.
The actor was at the university to speak with students for the Origins Project, per ASU. The topic was about "Finding the Creativity in Madness."
Meanwhile, Depp has recently finished filming "Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," which is the fifth installment to the franchise. Per Slashfilm, the film's release date has been bumped earlier to May 26, 2017 from its original July 7, 2017 schedule.
Details about the plot of the movie has been scarce. But there are reports saying Jack Sparrow (Depp) will come across the film's new baddie played by Javier Barden, as the notable pirate finds clues to a powerful ancient artifact. Joining Depp in the upcoming film is Brenton Thwaites, while former co-star Orlando Bloom will also have a brief appearance.
Depp next film, "Alice Through The Looking Glass" will be running in theaters this summer. He is set to work on "The Invisible Man" next.
