Kourtney Kardashian Welcomes Girl

Kourtney Kardashian and her partner Scott Disick welcomed their daughter in Los Angeles on Sunday. This is the second child of the star with her boyfriend of past five years.

"Scott and I are overjoyed to welcome our precious angel Penelope Scotland Disick into our lives. We are forever blessed. Mommy and baby are resting comfortably," Kardashian told E! News.

Penelope weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces at birth.

"It was a great. She had an easy delivery," Grandmother Kris Jenner told "E! News." "[Penelope] is so cute. She looks just like Mason. She's so beautiful. We are so happy."

Apart from the new arrival, the couple has a two-year-old son named Mason Disick. Kardashian was overjoyed and excited after learning she was going to have a baby girl.

"I am excited to have a girl, to have a new experience," she said on her reality show, "Keeping up With The Kardashians." "I'm really excited for Mason to not have to compete with a little brother."

Mason was also equally excited and looking forward to welcome his sister.

"Babies are his new obsession!" Kardashian said.

"Welcome to the world Penelope Scotland Disick!!!!" Kim Kardashian tweeted July 8, sharing her happiness with the 15,293,486 followers.

Kardashian was taking all necessary steps to ensure a smooth and trouble free pregnancy. She changed her hair color after becoming pregnant and defended the act in her blog by saying that she had taken the doctor's advice regarding the safety of the baby and had only highlighted the hair, the safest hair coloring method for pregnant women.

The 33 year-old and oldest sister of Kardashian family drew wide attention through the 2005 television series "Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive" before joining the reality series that centered on her family.

She made her acting debut with a guest appearance on the ABC soap "One Life to Live," March, 2011. Apart from her career in acting, she tried her hand in writing and has written a book "Kardashian Konfidential" with sisters Kim and Khloe.
