Morena Baccarin Delivers a Baby Boy

Actress Morena Baccarin and husband Austin Chick are now proud parents of a baby boy. The couple welcomed their first baby, Tuesday.

A representative of the actress confirmed the news to People magazine. Morena and Austin have named their baby Julius. The baby was born in Glendale, California and weighs nearly eight pounds.

"Julius and his mother are happy and healthy," the rep told the magazine.

Morena had a breech pregnancy and delivered the baby vaginally.

"I'm so happy I was able to deliver with Dr Ronald Wuthe 34-year-old actress said. "Breech delivery is a dying art and he gave me the birth experience I wanted."

She announced her pregnancy in May.

Recently Morena was seen at the 2013 Emmy Awards. She looked gorgeous in a red flowy gown. During her interview with Jimmy Kimmel, she said she would not miss the Emmys even if her baby arrived early.

"I told myself that I was going to go, and if I went into labor at the Emmys, I was going to sit through it," Morena told Jimmy. "I mean, no baby comes in four-and-a-half hours anyway, or maybe it's like 12 hours. I don't know how long the Emmys are."

It also seemed that the actress was very comfortable in her loose pregnancy dress. She tweeted saying,

"You know what I'm gonna wear for the rest of my life? Maternity pants. Best invention ever."

Morena is best known for her role in the drama series 'Homeland.' She was critically acclaimed for her performance as the conflicted wife of a former prisoner of war. She was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the 2013 Primetime Emmy awards for Homeland.
