Oklahoma Prisoners Escape through Prison Bathroom, Two Caught

Oklahoma prisoners escaped from a country jail when they spotted an opening through the plumbing system in a shower, but two of the four Oklahoma prisoners have been caught on Monday, according to the Reuters.

The four Oklahoma prisoners escaped early Sunday from the Caddo County Detention Center in Anadarko, Oklahoma, about 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City, Sheriff Gene Cain said. This is the first time prisoners have escaped the two-year old Caddoo County jail.

According to the Oklahoman, police guards and other Oklahoma prisoners were unaware that fellow prisoners had managed to escape. The prison guards only became aware of it when someone called the police at 2:40 a.m. to report seeing four men in orange prison jumpsuits near the jail. Following the report, a head count was conducted at the prison which came up four short.

According to the report, the men managed to climb through a trap door above the shower and into the pipe chase. The Oklahoma prisoners escaped through the pipe chase door into a property that did not belong to the detention center.

"All they had to do was push the door and walk out because it's not in the jail," Cain said.

Two of the escaped prisoners were caught; Prime Tounwin Brown, 23, and Dylan Ray Three Irons, 21, after officers acting on a tip spotted them about 20 miles from Anadarko in the town of Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Three of the men -- Three Irons, Brown and Anthony James Mendoca, 24 -- had been convicted of methamphetamine offenses and were awaiting transfer to a state prison. The fourth escapee, 32-year-old Triston Cheadle, was awaiting trial on a federal gun charge, KOCO-TV reported.
