Most new parents are worried on parenting their newborn babies and toddlers. They ask counsels from their moms and friends with children. This is a good idea as experienced mothers know the dos and don'ts in child rearing.
Parents.com shares the following advice from parents. Get wisdom from them who have been in your situation before.
1. Pack only diapers, snacks, wipes and a change of clothes in your car when you go out with your kids.
2. Don't ever think of the difficulties you have when you are caring for your baby. This will keep you from going.
3. Do not be worrisome if you are not having a good sleep. This will soon pass.
4. A baby develops at his own pace. Don't be stressed if your friend's child is crawling or talking already before yours.
5. Potty training can be learned by your child as he aged. Be patient in training him.
6. The first year of rearing is quite difficult. Do not be overwhelmed. It will soon be better.
7. Do not compare your children with one another. Each child has his own unique personality.
8. Avoid saying this is my favorite child. Your other children would be jealous and hurt.
9. Do one thing at a time. Hence, you should prioritize your baby before anything else.
10. Spend time with your child. Don't just stare at him and forget what he looks like.
WebMD also shared some advice for new parents, which includes taking care of your own health. Elizabeth Stein, CNM, a private practice in New York called Asked Your Midwife said that the health of the family hinge on the health of the mother.
