Disneyland is said to be the happiest place on earth. However, it gets even more magical when the theme parks make the place happy for all kids -- even those who are deaf and mute. In a heartwarming video, a little girl named Shaylee Johnson was seen communicating with people using sign language.
While people tend to understand her at home or in school, it is a different story altogether when it comes to public places. In Disneyland, however, she can feel right at home. The new ad for Disney Parks shows parents that children like Shaylee are welcome.
The commercial showed the young girl from a few years ago, dressed in a Tinkerbell costume, at a Disney park to meet the real fairy. Her eyes were filled with amazement when Peter Pan's sidekick introduced herself in sign language, "Hi, my name is T-I-N-K."
This is too adorable!

The video then forwarded to the present, where Shayley made her return to the Disney Park. However, this time around, Shaylee communicating with Minnie Mouse. "It made her proud of her own language," Manny Johnson, Shaylee's dad -- who also happens to be deaf -- told Smart Parenting. "She made that connection."
The ad may renew the warmth that Disneyland brings to children, but here's a lesser known trivia: did you know that Disney is actually deaf-and-mute friendly? Cast members know at least a little bit of sign language. It's not to a very great extent, but at the very least, they have official signs for the names of major characters.
According to the Disney Parks blog, it was in1996 when the Walt Disney Company actually created official signs to be incorporated into many of the performances in the parks. They collaborated with guests and professional interpreters to make signs that make the most logical choice based on the characters and their location.
