iPhone 7 News & Updates: The Latest Rumors About How Apple iPhone 7 Would Look Like

Rumors and speculations about Apple's next-generation iPhone 7 have been buzzing around the internet. Now, the first images published online claim to show the iPhone 7's design.

No Where Else, a technology news website based in France, published on Sunday, March 13, an image claiming to show the iPhone 7's backplate. The rumored iPhone 7 image shows a computer screen at China-based Catcher Technology. In the past, the company was the supplier of the metal chassis for iPhones.

No Where Else also published a rendering of a new iPhone 7, resembling the backplate pictured in the photo. Business Insider reports that the leaked image of the iPhone 7 chassis differs somewhat from the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models. The device's backplate features the Apple logo and holes for the rear-facing camera. The horizontal antenna lines on the back were replaced with lines around the spine.

The iPhone 7 is expected to be unveiled by Apple later this year at a press event. Apple has not revealed many details about its plans for the future. For this reason, the iPhone 7 and other upcoming devices from Apple are subject of many rumors and speculations.

Apple's secrecy policy extends also to its suppliers that are not allowed to share details on new devices. Given this well-known Apple policy, it is difficult to say whether the leaked images are indeed real. The screen capture has no mention that the chassis is indeed the iPhone 7.

Since it's still months away from launching, it is uncertain whether the iPhone 7 design has even been finalized by Apple. The leaked image could be just a first-take at what the company has planned.

The images of the supposed iPhone 7 chassis could also be that of the iPhone 6c or iPhone SE, which are expected to be unveiled by Apple at a special press event on March 21. According to previous reports, iPhone SE could come with a design somewhat similar to the iPhone 6s. The difference is that iPhone SE will feature a 4-inch screen, compared to the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays of the iPhone 6s lineup.
