Both Charlie Puth fans and Justin Bieber fans were initially left confused and wondering after Selena Gomez's former collaborator stated the profanity at mid-song. Some wondered if Charlie Puth made the comment on behalf of Selena Gomez. After all, the song Charlie Puth had been singing was the single "We Don't Talk Anymore" from the album "Nine Track Mind." Selena Gomez is featured in this particular Charlie Puth song.
According to Billboard, Charlie Puth posted an apology on Twitter and explained that his Justin Bieber comment is just a joke. No clarity was given over what inspired the Justin Bieber joke by Charlie Puth. More curious, though, is how Charlie Puth removed the apology and clarifications he made over the Justin Bieber comment.
HollywoodLife alleges that the Justin Bieber comment by Charlie Puth is indeed related to Selena Gomez. The Justin Bieber comment was supposed to be a stand by Charlie Puth on behalf of Selena Gomez.
The media outlet says that although Charlie Puth never meant for "We Don't Talk Anymore" to be a song about Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, the song eventually began to seem a perfect fit. Selena Gomez reportedly opened up to Charlie Puth about her relationship with Justin Bieber while they worked on the song.
"The dress line in the duet is a reference to 'Good For You' as well to add some more smoke to the fire," an insider allegedly said. "All the things that she told Charlie in the collaboration process about Justin really stuck, and Charlie is siding with Selena's part of the story."
Justin Bieber has yet to comment what Charlie Puth said in the concert. Neither has Justin Bieber commented on the eventual apology by Charlie Puth.
What may explain the removal of the social media apology by Charlie Puth is that the "We Don't Talk Anymore" singer supposedly feels very strongly about how Selena Gomez had been mistreated. Inevitably Charlie Puth would have taken that stand for Selena Gomez against Justin Bieber.
