There had been talks about a possible movie adaptation of the famous game "Fallout." Bethesda has announced that they have considered making a "Fallout" movie if everything is executed perfectly.
According to Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard, they have entertained the idea of making the infamous video game "Fallout" into a movie. In fact, they have established an internal company supposedly in charge of developing IPs for a film in 1998, reports Comic Book Movie. They have received a first script written by Brent V. Friedman, who also penned "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." Comic Book provided a link that you can visit to view and actually download the script.
Going back to Bethesda, Movie Pilot has confirmed that the game developer has been in talks with various studios in developing a movie adaptation of the game. Sadly, none of them has revealed how Howard envisions the movie.
"We've had a couple of in-roads, particularly with Fallout, which is a bit stickier than Elder Scrolls, but everybody's kind of asked and I've taken a number of meetings over the years and nothing quite clicked", he was quoted saying by Comic Book. "I would say we have a pretty high bar as far as what we would want it to be if it ever happened and nothing's quite clicked."
Movie Pilot points out how the players' actions play the part in the success of the game. The website says that "the fans are the real heroes of the story." Without the players' moves and decisions, "Fallout" may not deliver the best experience. Todd also said the importance of executing the tiny details of the game perfectly. Bethesda has made the game that way and it should follow the movie as well.
However, Todd doesn't completely rule out the film adaptation of "Fallout." The game developer is just waiting for the perfect interpretation of "Fallout" even to the tiniest detail. They have also concerns with the parallel universe. Viewers may feel disconnected between the game and the movie.
If there will be a "Fallout" movie, it should tailor on Todd's interpretation. For now, check out a walkthrough on Fallouts gameplay.
