After a long wait, pre-order for "No Man's Sky" has started rolling online following the announcement of its release. Developer Hello Games hints that fans will be thrilled about its features and a four-minute footage of the gameplay was unleashed to tease gamers.
Hello Games head Sean Murray said that fans can expect that "No Man's Sky" will not be predictable like other games that have become certified hits. "As a gamer who plays all the time I love a lot of Triple-A titles but I find gaming a little predictable a lot of the time," said Murray via BBC Newsbeat. "It's because we're making these enormous big budget games that by their very nature have to follow a blueprint."
Murray promises that "No Man's Sky" will be a different experience as it offers the chance for players to explore and chart adventures in different landscapes - 18 quintillion planets to be exact. The gameplay's progress will also rely on the player's interaction with its environment. How a gamer explores the worlds will impact the way these environments will develop.
"We are attempting to do things that have never been done before," said Murray back when the game's development was revealed, per The Guardian. "No game has made it possible to fly down to a planet, and for it to be planet-sized, and feature life, ecology, lakes, caves, waterfalls, and canyons, then seamlessly fly up through the stratosphere and take to space again."
"No Man's Sky" will have players as astronauts and aside from going on adventures, they will have to find resources to build new worlds. They will also have to manage to survive life in space with the ultimate goal of finding the center of the universe.
Pre-orders for "No Man's Sky" for the PC and PS4 have already gone live on Steam, the PlayStation Network and other online stores. There is a standard edition and a limited edition, with future update that will make it possible for playing using virtual reality technology.
"No Man's Sky" officially releases June 21 in the United States and June 24 in the United Kingdom. Take a look at the four-minute gameplay in this video below:
