Two sisters from Ohio recently gave birth to twin quadruplets, according to Yahoo!
Annie and Joby Johnston both decided in February to take a break from their usual surgeries, IVF treatments and artificial inseminations. "We were tired of doing the same thing and experiencing a different result", said Annie. Chrissy Knott, Annie's sister and a mother of two boys became involved in their decision to bear a child.
Knott told her sister Annie in 2011 that she would carry their baby for them after the first few rounds of IVF failed. Two years later, the Johnston's accepted her offer and a physician then implanted two embryos in each sister. "The doctor made sure that everyone was OK with the possibility of four babies because it was possible," Johnston said. "But, for us, after trying for so long, we were just trying to increase our chances of getting at least one."
After nine days, both Annie and Chrissy found out that they were both expecting a baby. A month after, the sisters found out that they are both carrying a set of twins which their doctor classified as quadruplets. "I was relieved, more than anything, that the babies were still developing," Johnston said. "My husband, I think, was thinking more down the road of what we were going to do with four babies."
Both sisters gave birth to four healthy babies via a C-section on October 24, according to ABC News. "My sister was carrying the two boys, and she delivered first, so I could be there in the room for her when she had them," Johnston said. "Two hours later, at 9:30 a.m., I delivered the girls." The sisters named their babies Charles, Thomas, Grace and Hadley.
