'The Winds of Winter' Release Date & Spoilers: Book Delayed Again, Will Not Arrive This Year?

The sixth installment of the popular novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is still in the dark. There are rumors that after waiting for four years and counting, "The Winds of Winter" will still not be available this year.

According to new reports, there are high chances that the anticipated book, "The Winds of Winter" will be delayed, yet again. Initially, George RR Martin, the author of the popular book series want the book out before "Game of Thrones" Season 6. Unfortunately, HBO has already announced the return of the show, but the release date of "The Winds of Winter" remains unknown.

Martin told Entertainment Weekly that it is important for him to finish "The Winds of Winter" before "GoT" season 6. He even cancelled two conventional appearances and turned down some invitation to focus on the book, but despite his effort, "The Winds of Winter" remains unfinished.

CrossMap reported that "GoT" season 6 will return in April and fans of the book might just see the ending of their favorite story on the small screens. There are high chances that the TV show will finish first before Martin publishes all the seven books, which in most cases is very much unlikely.

Per the reports, "The Winds of Winter" may arrive by late 2016 or early 2017. The last book "A Dance with Dragons" was released in 2011, by then it would be about five to six years of waiting.

Meanwhile, Parent Herald previously reported that "The Winds of Winter" would include a plot that its TV adaptation, "Game of Thrones" will not be able to carry out. The said plot includes a character that is already dead on the show but not in the book. Who do you think is this character? There are rumors that it's about the Reeds, do you agree?

Martin has never specified any official release date for "The Winds of Winter" and after failing to publish the book in the first quarter of 2016, we don't know Martin's next target release date for the book.

Are you hopeful that "The Winds of Winter" will arrive this year? Or will it be another full year of waiting? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
