'Batman v Superman' Release Date, News & Update: 'BVS' Advance Ticket Sale Surpassing 'Furious 7,' 'Deadpool' & 'Avengers'

A week before "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" hit the theaters on March 25, the advance ticket sales of the movie's first opening weekend is already reaching new heights. The film is already surpassing the presale earnings of the box office hits, "Deadpool," "The Avengers" and "Fast and the Furious 7," with about $20 to $25 million.

According to Deadline, about 99 percent of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" advance ticket sales are scheduled for its first and second-day opening. On Thursday night, 57 percent of the tickets have already been booked, about two-thirds of it are for the initial screening session at 6 p.m. or 7 p.m., while 22 percent of the tickets for the Friday screening have been booked too.

Comicbook adds that "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" presale moviegoers is dominated by men as 80 percent of the advance ticket sales are purchased by males. "Jurassic World" breaks the record of "The Avengers" by having 64 percent male viewers.

It is quite expected that "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is much awaited by the male audience, according to Movio Co-Founder and Chief Executive Will Palmer. "The audience profile is 78 [percent] male, massively over indexing between ages 14-49. This is your avid opening weekend audience with some 70 [percent] attending films during opening week."

As per an analyst, the $20 million to $25 million figure is quite near to the advance ticket sales of the 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises," which debuted with $160.9 million. "Deadpool" had a $132.4 million, "The Avengers" had $207.4 million while "Fast and the Furious 7" had $147.1 million two weeks before these movies are released worldwide.

If ever "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" beats "Fast and the Furious 7" in its opening weekend, the film of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill will break the record of being the biggest Easter and April movie release of all time.
