Double Mastectomy Patient Deborah Cohan Does Beyonce Dance Before Surgery [VIDEO]

What's the best way to get through a double mastectomy? Dancing of course, and that's exactly what patient Deborah Cohan did before she underwent the surgery.

Cohan, a mother of two and an OB/GYN, joined in a six-minute flash-mob style video to Beyonce's hit song "Get Me Bodied" at San Francisco's Mount Zion hospital. Dr Cohan is seen doing a shimmy and shake to the song alongside her medical team dressed in masks and scrubs.

In a bid to turn the double mastectomy surgery into a connected experience, Cohan also called for friends and family members to dance to the same tune at the same time, Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., and share the photos and videos.

"I have visions of a healing video montage," Cohan wrote on her CaringBridge page. "Nothing brings me greater joy than catalyzing others to dance, move, be in their bodies."

The now-viral video has been making the rounds on social media, and so far, has racked up roughly 700,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded Tuesday.

According to her Caring Bridge page, all that positive energy seems to have paid off: "Deb's surgery was very successful. No visible lymph node involvement. She's in good spirits. Already did some walking. Amazing."

Beyonce posted a link to the video on her Facebook page, saying "Deborah, you are awesome".

According to San Francisco's KLTV news, Deborah is feeling awesome. She is at home and resting.
