Reports about "Princess Diaries 3" have recently hit the online realm. And while there have been no definite confirmations if the sequel is moving forward, director Garry Marshall seemed to suggest that it may be a possibility.
Despite the fact that "Princess Diaries" lead actress Anne Hathaway is currently pregnant with her first child, director Garry Marshall revealed that the 33-year-old "Les Miserables" star is willing to do "Princess Diaries 3." Unfortunately, the movie sequel might happened after she gives birth.
"I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan," Marshall told People. "Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we're going to do it."
Marshall also added that he is optimistic that actor Chris Pine, who plays Lord Nicholas Devereaux in "Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement," will reprise his role in "Princess Diaries 3."
"Maybe," Marshall said about Pine's return in the sequel, as per MTV News. "He's quite big now, you know."
Meanwhile, as avid "Princess Diaries" fans go gaga over the reports for a third installment, here are 3 interesting plotlines that "Princess Diaries 3" could possibly explore.
1. A happy-ever-after for Mia Thermopolis and her frenemy-turned-love interest Lord Nicholas Devereaux
If "Princess Diaries 3" will happen, it would be nice to see Mia finds her happy-ever-after with Nicholas. People even suggested that Mia would be a "mom of two twin boys and one precocious girl."
2. Mia and her U.S. Tour
Since "Princess Diaries 3" news have shook the Internet with plot rumors, Bustle also suggested that it would be interesting to see the klutzy Queen of Genovia embarking on a series of U.S. tours. In addition, there were also suggestions that the movie might depict Mia's quarter life crisis.
3. Mia and Michael's Reunion
While Mia has already found love in Nicholas, another interesting suggestion would be her reunion with Michael in "Princess Diaries 3." Bustle additionally suggested that it would be great if Mia will run into Michael in the rumored sequel as he tries to make it work in the Brooklyn music scene.
Meanwhile, Disney has neither confirmed nor denied if "Princess Diaries 3" will be in the works soon. But a source close to the company had told Entertainment Weekly that there were no plans in development as of late.
