When "Star Wars" film finally returns, many fans were delighted. Thus, it's not a surprise that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was a huge hit. Now, that it's over, "Star Wars" fans are eyeing for the next film, "Star Wars Episode 8."
According to new reports, a new scene description of "Star Wars Episode 8" leaked online. MakingStarWars.net reported that the cast and crew filmed in Dubrovnik. This report was accompanied with cool photos.
Per the report, the scene involved 10 actors in a central dignitary. It featured a fair-haired, mid-aged jeweled woman with her entourage that includes Caucasian hand maidens, male guards, an African-American guy, an Asian-American guy and more. Her bodyguards are a combination of humanoid and Muppet-like aliens.
The characters proceeded to a "levitating" twin-engine cobalt and argent speeder. As the Asian-American and Caucasian escort approached the vehicle, there was a sudden explosion and the prop disintegrated.
The report likened the scene in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" where the dignitaries observed a Starkiller Base activity. What do you think of this?
Meanwhile, director J.J. Abrams already announced that he will not be helming any future "Star Wars" films. For those who are wondering why he is not taking the directorial chair anymore, he finally revealed the reason.
"It was a wonderful way to visit a place that meant so much to me and obviously so many," he told Fortune. "I knew that if it worked, it was the perfect time to step down - and if it didn't, no one would want me to do it anyway."
Yes, it's unlikely for one to just turn away from one of the biggest film franchise. Although Abrams will not be directing any "Star Wars" films, he is still part of it. Abrams is the executive producer for "Star Wars Episode 8" and "Star Wars Episode 9."
Is Abrams contented with his role in the upcoming "Star Wars" films? Looks like he is and he is confident with Rian Johnson, who will be helming the next film.
"I'm very happy to be where I am," Abrams said. "Rian Johnson [who is currently directing Episode Eight] is brilliant and needs no help from me. As executive producer, I've been collaborating with them, but they are obviously doing all of the heavy lifting and it's very exciting to see what's going on."
What do you think of Abrams decision?
"Star Wars Episode 8" is slated for release in Dec. 15, 2017 while "Star Wars Episode 9" will be out in 2019.
