Madeline Stuart once again stuns everyone with her new bridal campaign for Rixey Manor, a wedding venue owned by Isadora Martin-Dye in Virginia. The model with Down syndrome wears a number of striking wedding gowns by the designer Ava Laurenne and shot by photographer Sarah Houston.
The nuptial-themed photo shoot was the brainchild of Martin-Dye and her husband, Ben Rinder. The couple said that the involvement of Madeline Stuart in their project is to show that there can be a variety of "wedding models."
In fact, Martin-Dye says that there are a lot of women who "cannot see themselves as a bride" even though they are already engaged. She said that this is because of the usual typecasting that brides should be perfectly beautiful, tall and thin, according to NYMag.
"I think that being a bride is a life experience that every woman should be able to see herself doing - and definitely not stressing about the fact that they won't look 'perfect' on their wedding day," Martin-Dye. Houston wrote on her blog. She also said that she wants to show the world that being a bride has to be the same with others.
Photographer Sarah Houston added that Madeline Stuart just proves that being a bride doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be 5'9" in height and skinny like the usual models in magazines. Meanwhile, Madeline Stuart has already gathered a number of recognitions in spite of the stigma she's facing because of having Down syndrome, per Zimbio.
Madeline Stuart has extraordinary accomplishments in the world of fashion and modeling that give everyone awareness about Down syndrome. Also, Madeline Stuart helps other people who have Down syndrome to be understood by the society and change the perception they have of them.
In fact, Madeline Stuart is the first ever model who has Down syndrome to grace the Paris Fashion Week twice. Madeline Stuart, too, helps abolish body discrimination happening not just in the modeling world but to every woman as well.
