Ubisoft recently announced the different Virtual Reality experience in "Assassin's Creed." However, the VR feature will just be applied to the "Assassin's Creed" movie in collaboration with Fox and Practical Magic.
"Assassin's Creed VR experience -- based on the film -- is coming this year from FOX & Practical Magic," Ubisoft shared on their official Twitter page. The "Assassin's Creed" VR experience was also revealed at the AMD's GDC press conference, according to Polygon.
The president of Practical Magic VR and director of VR experiences, Matthew Lewis, clearly noted that the upcoming VR experience is not for the game version of "Assassin's Creed." He also added that the VR experience is already shot along with the "Assassin's Creed" film, which has been filmed in Malta, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Moreover, Practical Magic is a known production company that produces "studio-grade" VR filmmaking. Fox, on the other hand, will be the main distributor of "Assassin's Creed." However, Ubisoft still retains its hold on "Assassin's Creed" as the video game developer and has its own production company for creative control, Wired reports.
Meanwhile, fans find 2016 as a very odd year for gamers as there's no new title coming for the "Assassin's Creed" gameplay. The new VR experience, too, overturned the planned release of the new Nintendo platform with the launch of high-end VR headsets for PC and PlayStation 4.
Game and movie enthusiasts said that there's no game that could support the "Assassin's Creed" film. Hence, they are hoping that the "Assassin's Creed" VR experience will be an enough promotion to keep up with the gaming community, as noted by Game Rant.
"Assassin's Creed" will be led by "Macbeth" star Michael Fassbender. Michael Fassbender will play the role of Callum Lynch, the successor of the mysterious secret society of the Assassins.
