A new smart watch is joining the fray. However, this time, it's built for very rugged conditions – the kind that surfers, skiers and skaters will have fun using with less worries.
Nixon, a watch company that focuses on a younger lifestyle that includes surfers, has announced that they have a new watch called the “Mission,” the “world’s first ultra-rugged, action sports smartwatch,” reports Droid Life.
The Mission is a winner in both look and power. On the outside, it makes use of a fully-rounded AMOLED multicolor display that's protected by Gorilla Glass; the body is encased in 316L-grade stainless steel and polycarbonate; and it comes with a custom dual-layer silicon band.
The Mission comes in three different colors. Aside from that, users can also choose from different watch faces from Nixon's other models, including the 51-30, The Sentry, The Player, The Ranger and The Unit.
Inside the beautiful exterior, it runs on the latest Android Wear version from Google, is powered by Qualcomm's newest Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, and is believed to have the best smartwatch battery to date, reports The Verge.
The Mission also comes with preinstalled “Mission” app, which is powered by Snocountry and Surfline. The watch also features high durability and water resistance up to a depth of 100 meters.
It is believed that the Mission will be released later this year, although details on the pricing hasn't been released as of the moment.
