Barbell Brew: Forget Protein Shakes, Drink this Hi-Protein Beer Instead

Now you can enjoy beer without the guilt of getting those extra calories. Barbell Brew is a hi-protein beer that gives you the same amount of protein in a sirloin steak, while keeping its guilt-free beer factor.

An online store in the UK created the world's first guilt-free beer with protein as much as three extra-large eggs or an eight-ounce container of Greek Yogurt, as per Oddity Central. That's 21.8 grams of protein which is 95 percent more than the average, says Pop Sugar.

With an alcohol content of 3.6 percent, Barbell Brew boasts of 92.4 calories, which are 33 percent less than what you normally get from regular beers. To top it all off, it is gluten-free, which will definitely appeal to many health aficionados.

"Living a healthy lifestyle can be difficult, especially when you enjoy a drink with friends," one employee was reported saying. "But now our high-protein alternative means anyone can enjoy a beer without the guilt."

Online retailer Muscle Food describes the beer as the perfect post-workout treat, promising a great alternative to protein shakes. The gluten-free beer has hints of tropical fruits and light caramel that offers the familiar taste of popular craft beers.

It promises an "aggressive, dry and satisfying choppy finish". According to the website, the company has undergone a lot of taste tests to get the perfect taste. 'Barbell Brew' is sold at $22.24 for a six-pack. Check out this beer tasting of craft beers by The Craft Beer Channel:
