The latest teaser to "Legend of Tarzan" has been released. The Warner Bros flick from "Harry Potter" director David Yates is set for a July 2016 theater date. However, unlike previous inceptions of the legendary tale written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, this new jungle hero story appears more intense and terrifying.
The new teaser show how apes brutally murdered Tarzan's father and then took the boy to raise as one of their own. The "Legend of Tarzan" clips also revealed how the jungle creatures stood up against an imperialist villain in a startling stampede of wildebeests, where humans ended up getting killed.
The "Legend of Tarzan" film also depicted chilling images of jungle natives trying to protect their land from colonizers. Tarzan is also showed swinging from vine to vine in dangerous, high-flying moves.
So much is at stake in this new adaptation to a classic story, but Warner Bros. should be hoping the movie will be a summer blockbuster hit. The "Legend of Tarzan" movie was first announced as in development in 2012 and three actors were eyed for the part of the titular character: Charlie Hunnam, Henry Cavill and Alexander Skarsgård, per Vulture.
"Legend of Tarzan" filming eventually rolled out in 2014, where Alexander Skarsgård was picked for the lead role. Margot Robbie (Jane Porter), Christoph Waltz (Captain Rom) and Samuel L. Jackson (George Washington Williams) are also in the movie, which will focus on the origins of the jungle king.
"Legend of Tarzan" will open with Tarzan already living a good life in London with his wife Jane. However, he will be asked to return to Congo, where he was first found, at the request of the Parliament. The real reason as to why he was sent back will be unraveled in the movie, per Hollywood Reporter.
