The long-awaited "Supergirl" crossover with "The Flash" is finally happening on Monday, March 28 on CBS. The network has released new promos showing Kara and Barry racing against each other and fighting super villains. But is "Arrow" crossing over to "Supergirl" next?
Not a lot has been given away in the previews to the crossover episode "World's Finest," but one short teaser shows Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Barry (Grant Gustin) counting to their marks before a race. In another teaser, Supergirl and Flash appear as though they are about to battle with a villain together. Watch the sneak peeks in these videos below this article.
It should be noted that Supergirl and Flash are of different universes in the comic books, but because of the latter's ability to travel through time, it wasn't difficult to explain the crossover. The episode will follow the story as it happens in the comics, which will have The Flash accidentally stumbling upon Supergirl's world.
The Flash will supposedly ask the help of Supergirl to get him back to Arrow's world, per Daily Mail. However, before this can happen, The Flash and Supergirl will have to battle it out with Livewire and the Silver Banshee, as the villains have held Kara's boss, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), hostage.
The very first crossover between "Supergirl" and "The Flash" was hatched immediately after the female superhero show premiered in October 2015. At that time, creator Greg Berlanti denied it could happen given that "Supergirl" just started its run and the shows are on different networks despite coming from the same production.
However, it was revealed that Berlanti was given the right to do the crossovers in his contract, per The Hollywood Reporter. This also extends to an "Arrow" deal, which could mean that Oliver Quinn might be traveling to National City in the next crossover.
"Supergirl" is the highest-rated freshmen series to premiere in the 2015-2016 season slate with 17 million viewers in its debut. The show also won a People's Choice and Critic's Choice awards for Best New Program.
