The success of "Frozen" is definitely not a fluke. In fact, up to now, the "Frozen" fever is on the air and many are still looking forward to seeing its sequel. However, new reports suggest that "Frozen 2" will not be happening anymore.
IGN reported that "Frozen 2" was confirmed during Walt Disney Company's annual shareholders meeting. "We enjoyed making Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters," said John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Pixar Animated Studio. "Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."
Unfortunately, "Frozen 2" might not hit the big screens anymore because several "Frozen" iterations are on the way. According to Australia Network, there are rumors that "Frozen 2" was cancelled to give way for its Broadway version.
Meanwhile, according to Inquisitr, ABC announced that the network would broadcast a "Frozen" holiday special. An unnamed project will be fully animated featuring the popular "Frozen" sisters, Anna and Elsa, as well as, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven.
Emmy Award-winning directors Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton, who also helmed two of ABC's favorite original Christmas specials Prep & Landing and Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa, will be taking the directorial chair for the "Frozen" special. Per the report, it will include all the familiar voices from Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gand and the others. Unfortunately, "Frozen" special will not air until Christmas 2017.
For those who missed the "Frozen" fever, Freeform will be airing the popular animated show in Mar. 26 and Mar. 27 at 8 p.m and 7:30 p.m. respectively, which the network dubbed as "Frozen Weekend."
In a separate report from Australia Network, there are rumors that Elsa will finally find her love interest in "Frozen 2" and that Anna might be the villain. Meanwhile, Parent Herald previously reported that Tarzan is Anna and Elsa's brother. In a separate report from Parent Herald, there are rumors that Anna and Elsa are not real sisters, and that Elsa's twin is Rapunzel.
