In just two seasons, "Gotham" has gathered almost nine million viewers in different platforms, topping the list as one of the most entertainment programs watched by men. Fox officially announced in a press release that there will definitely be a "Gotham" Season 3.
"It takes a very special team to tell the tales of 'Gotham.' For the past two seasons, Bruno [Heller], Danny [Cannon] and John [Stephens] have masterfully honored the mythology of 'Gotham' and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama. This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn't be more proud of this show," FOX Entertainment President David Madden said in the official statement, according to Screen Rant.
According to Deadline, "Gotham's" writer and executive producer, Bruno Heller, said that "Gotham" tells the story of a policeman who's doing his best to govern a corrupt city over the hands of the "good and evil." "Gotham," too, follows the birth of the known caped crusader, Bruce Wayne.
Bruno Heller also works with Danny Cannon and John Stephens as executive producers under Warner Bros. Television studio. "Gotham" joins "Empire" and "Scream Queens," which are also recently extended for another season.
Meanwhile, in the Fox's renewal press release teases the upcoming "Gotham" Season 3. It is said that Hugo Strange (BD Wong) still has a number of pending "wild experiments" in his Indian Hill laboratories.
Fox hints that Hugo Strange is about to develop more villains that will make "Gotham" suffer from madness. Also, Azrael will carry a different look in "Gotham" Season 3 as he will have a major makeover.
Additionally, "Gotham" Season 1 villain Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) might shortly return from the dead. The next antagonist, on the other hand, is going to be, none other than Penguin's father played by Paul Reubens.
