There are rumors that "Space Jam 2" will feature NBA superstar LeBron James. However, there is no confirmation when "Space Jam 2" will be in the works as LeBron James is not ready to take Michael Jordan's previous role yet.
"It'd be crazy not to say that it's something on the radar, it's super on the radar, but it's not something we have any news on. There's no sort of start on it," Jamal Henderson, president of SpringHill, said per Movie Web. The news that LeBron James will be the next protagonist in "Space Jam 2" is fueled by the collaboration of Warner Bros and SpringHill Entertainment, LeBron James' own company.
The partnership between the two studios cleared that their business won't be about "Space Jam 2" alone, according to Cleveland.com. However, it doesn't mean that the plans for creating "Space Jam 2" will never pursue even if Warner Bros is not making any official announcement yet.
It can be remembered that LeBron James surprised everyone with his supporting role with Amy Schumer in the comedy film" Trainwreck." LeBron James then signed a production deal with Warner Bros that led to the assumption that he would be doing "Space Jam 2."
Moreover, LeBron James is still busy working as a professional basketball player. Even though it's the NBA's off-season, LeBron James won't have enough time to shoot for "Space Jam 2" as it also contains serious CGI and VFX works.
In fact, no one even knows what "Space Jam 2" is going to be about, as there are no plot, synopsis or even scripts done yet, Cinema Blend adds. SpringHill is still working what will be its first project with Warner Bros.
However, it has been said that whether a TV or movie assignment, it won't be led by LeBron James. Hence, whatever will be the result of the Springhill and Warner Bros partnership, LeBron James is already assured that he will have a career after NBA.
