'Metal Gear Online' 2016 News & Update: 'Cloaked in Silence' DLC Lets You Play as Quiet

Players of the game “Metal Gear Online” now have their chance at playing as Quiet, the super-fast sniper from “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.” Players who purchase the new “Cloaked in Silence” Expansion Pack will also get along with Quiet three new map locations, a new mission called “Sabotage,” and a new game mode, reports GamingBolt.

Quiet retains her very quick speed in online matches, giving her the added bonus of getting a quick cover, reports Kotaku. She can also jump over cover that normally needs to be climbed if she jumps while running fast.

Quiet, however, is a unique character, and not everyone gets to play as her at once. At the beginning of a game, one player is randomly chosen to appear as a chosen unique, which includes Quiet, Revolver Ocelot and Venom Snake.

The three maps included in the “Cloaked in Silence” Expansion Pack are Coral Complex, Rust Palace and Azure Mountain. All of them show familiar locations, which players will get to recognize if they played through the single player campaign of “The Phantom Pain.”

Coral Complex resembles the Mother Base, Rust Palace looks like the Afghan complex, and Azure Mountain looks like a rocky place where some missions and fights in “MGS5” took place. For the “Sabotage” mission, two teams face off against each other over a weapons crate. Attackers will try to either destroy or fulton it out of the level while defenders will do all they can to prevent or stop that from happening.

The new game mode included in the DLC is the win-centered Survival mode, where two teams of six players go head-to-head for five games. The map and rules both change with each round, and both teams must do what they can to win as many rounds as they can. Rewards are given based on the number of wins racked up.

The “Cloaked in Silence” Expansion Pack DLC is available for $4, and is available for PlayStation 4, PS 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
