A French nurse posted a heart-melting video of newborn twins cuddled up together as they are given a bath.
The nurse, Sonia Rochel, developed a bathing technique called the Thalasso Baby Bath that involves massaging and caressing the babies for around 10 to 15 minute. This method that does not involve soap, is supposed to have a relaxing and calming effect on the infants.
In the video the babies are seen hugging each other throughout their bath and one can actually sense the bond between them. This can indicate the reactions of twins inside womb.
According to TODAY Moms, Rochel was inspired to develop this bathing method for the infants while taking shower years ago. She realized the soothing effects warm water had on the body and devised this technique for infants.
"I'm not a scientist; I cannot tell you what it brings to the baby. But don't you feel that the pictures speak for themselves? ...I know (and feel) that the technique provides the well-being and the relaxation. There are no words strong enough to express how it feels every person. Even years later, I'm still impressed by the emotion of the parents. The mother cries, the father was very moved, the baby is in another world. What joy for me to offer this time with babies, to bring this happiness? The bath is a story of trust between the newborn, parents and me," she said in an interview to Omum.
The 50-year-old grandmother of five children said the technique is advisable only for babies below two months and the parents should not perform it all by themselves.
