The Samsung Galaxy TabPro S high-end 12-inch 2-in-1 device is finally arriving to the United States. It will be available for purchase via Samsung.com, Microsoft Stores and Best Buy.
According to Tech Times, the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S will be sold on Best Buy starting March 18 for $899.99. The device will be available on April 4 in brick and mortar Microsoft Stores as well as online on Microsoftstore.com in the Canada, United States and Puerto Rico. It is yet unclear when Samsung Galaxy TabPro S will be sold on Samsung's website.
The Galaxy TabPro S was unwrapped back in January at the CES 2016. The 2-in-1 hybrid device is a result of several years of collaboration between Intel, Microsoft and Samsung.
Samsung's Galaxy TabPro S 2-in-1 device first landed on select European markets earlier this month. The lightweight device weighs only 1.53 pounds and is just 0.25-inch thick. It comes with a super AMOLED display with a resolution on 2,160 x 1,400 pixels.
For its lightweight design and "the best screen" on the market so far, tech experts consider that Samsung's Galaxy TabPro S will rival Microsoft' Surface Pro. In terms of hardware, the Galaxy TabPro S features 4 GB of RAM, a 2.2 GHz Core M3 processor and up to 256 GB SSD of storage.
A dedicated pen is expected to arrive soon, for the users of the tablet to take advantage of the Universal Windows Platform apps like the Bamboo Paper and the TabPro S' touch screen. The Galaxy TabPro S device provides a 10.5-hour battery life. The package includes a keyboard case for a total of $900.
Chris Cocks, Microsoft's vice president for OEM Technical Sales, declared on a blog that the Galaxy TabPro S is optimized for productivity and entertainment. He highlighted the ultra thin and beautiful design of the detachable 2-in-1 device.
Cocks also added that Microsoft invested in this new tablet the work in optimizing the Cortana experience, work done together with Samsung. Microsoft Corporation together with Samsung improved the Cortana speech accuracy, achieving in all sound environments scores greater than 90 percent.
