Luxury Smartwatch By Michael Kors Coming This Fall

Michael Kors unveiled on Thursday the Michael Kors Access smartwatch, a luxury timepiece that will kick off a new lineup of technology accessories from the brand.

Michael Kors aims to enter the industry of luxury weareables, according to PC Mag. The upcoming luxury smartwatch will be customizable, compatible with Android and iOS mobile platforms and will feature exclusive display faces that change with a swipe.

The Michael Kors luxury smartwatches will offer features like app notifications, text and email alerts, social media updates, voice activation and built-in fitness tracking.

The Michael Kors Access smartwatch will run Google's Android Wear operating system. The luxury smartwatches will start at a price of $395 and are expected to hit online shops and Michael Kors brick-and-mortar stores sometime this fall.

Michael Kors Access smartwatches will come in two variants, targeting women and men customers. For men customers, the Michael Kors watch will be a "sporty" black model with interchangeable leather and silicone wristbands. A "glamorous" gold version is aimed at women customers.

Michael Kors CEO John Idol declared in a statement that he is "in the business of in the business of making people's lives easier through fashion". He decided to make tech accessories glamorous and chic, since owners have to wear them every day. In his opinion technology should reflect personal taste and give access to all the experiences desired since it's starting to impact our lives more and more.

Idol added that the Michael Kors brand is built on giving customers what they want for a fast-paced lifestyle. Nowadays, busy people need to stay connected 24/7. The upcoming luxury smartwatch will allow its owners to have access to a world of adventure, escape and glamour.

Michael Kors luxury fashion designer joins other Fossil Group brands like Diesel, Chaps, Emporio Armani, Skagen and Kate Spade New York with plans to release more than 100 products in 40 countries in time for the holiday season. Among the upcoming products are included fitness trackers, as well as display- and non-display watches.
