Less than three months from now, the audience will get to see a new American epic fantasy film from Duncan Jones and Chris Metzen in "Warcraft: The Beginning." The "Warcraft" movie is inspired by the popular video game of Blizzard Entertainment, titled "Warcraft."
Last week, Legendary Pictures released a new "Warcraft" spot that showcased the epic adventure in the anticipated movie adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment's global phenomenon game.
As SlashFilm puts it, the short footage features a mano-mano showdown between the human and the Orc. It is filled with exciting and close to real imagery that will surely convince the audience how beautiful the film is. Per the report, the "Warcraft" film will scratch the itch of those who missed the "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" series.
Here's a short synopsis of the anticipated film, "Warcraft:"
"The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home."
MovieWeb believes that "Warcraft" has a high chance of becoming the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time. At the time, Angelina Jolie's 2001 film, "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" holds the record with $131.1 million.
If "Warcraft" is a hit, it could pave the way for other video game adaptations that are on the way, including Michael Fassbender's "Assassin's Creed" and Tom Hardy's "Splinter Cell."
"Warcraft" is a Legendary Pictures, Blizzard Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment production.
"Warcraft" stars Travis Fimmel, Dominic Cooper, Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Robert Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. The action epic film is written by Charles Leavit and Duncan Jones, with the latter taking the directorial chair.
